Each month more and more people join and use various social media platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Google plus, LinkedIn, and so on. Businesses target market audiences based on where these people are and how best to get you, the prospective buyer, to purchase their goods and or services. Facebook has had great success in growth worldwide and in helping businesses. Twitter on the other hand has not been so successful though it has a huge amount of activity and has added some great features. Google plus IMO has fallen short as a marketing platform and as a social platform. To me it is more about communities and less about engagements / discussions. I just don't see it thriving as it is right now. Sorry Google but something needs to change. Here are the last 3 months based on these analytics gathered by StatCounter, a well known and respected source of website analytics.
As you can see Facebook has been constantly growing and is utilized by over 85% of the world compared to the others. These other social media platforms should be asking questions as to why Facebook is so successful and what they need to do differently to gain followers and attract businesses.
